Born June 1, 1981, New York is an American stand-up comedian, screenwriter, producer and actress.
Schumer's breakthrough was her own show, Inside Amy Schumer, on Comedy Central, which launched in 2013. In 2014, she was nominated for a Television Critics' Choice Award for her performance on the show, as well as an Emmy as a screenwriter. In 2015, she was the host of the MTV Movie Awards. In 2015, she won the Television Critics' Choice Award. In 2015, she received an Emmy nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Television Series.
Following her television success, Schumer wrote and starred in Judd Apatow's A Girl Without Complexes. The film and her script received critical acclaim. In 2015, Schumer was named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of the Year.
In 2016, she became the first woman to be included in the list of “10 Highest Paid Comedians”.
