She is the daughter of Zhu Hanbin, a Chinese businessman, her grandfather Zhu Xuzhi (1912-2000) was a major general of the People's Liberation Army of China.
Zhu began studying piano at the age of three. While in elementary school, she performed a role in the play "Beauty and the Beast" in English.
Zhu graduated from the University of Technology and Business in Beijing, where she majored in electronics and information technology.
