She first rose to prominence at the age of 14, playing the role of Penny Phillips on the ITV television series Prime Suspect, opposite Helen Mirren. Critics praised the actress's role in the drama, including David Benuchilli of the New York Daily News and Robert Lloyd of the Los Angeles Times.
Earlier Greenwood starred in the children's television series "My Life is Like a Parrotruen" and in the drama "Walk Away and I Will Stumble." She also starred in cameo roles in The Brothers Grimm and V for Vendetta .
In 2008 she starred in the ITV soap opera "Echo - Beachruen". Also appeared in a cameo role of herself / a ballerina in the TV series "Moving the Tableruen" .
