Born January 7, 1956, New York - American actor and producer.
David was raised in a Catholic family, so he received his primary education in religious schools: first he attended elementary and high school in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Queens, then - Archbishop Molloy High School, which he graduated in 1974.
His first film work was as Danny in Getting Wasted (1980). The young actor spent the next decade, starring in secondary roles in various films ("Rambo: First Blood", "An Officer and a Gentleman", "Blue City", etc.) and TV shows ("Crime Stories", etc.). At the beginning of the new decade, Caruso still continued to act in supporting roles. During the filming of The Hudson Hawk, he refused to talk to anyone on the set as his character, Keith Cat, was scripted to play the role.
Caruso got his first serious role only in 1993, when he played detective John Kelly - the main character of the crime series "New York Police". For this role, Caruso was awarded the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series - Drama. But the next year, the actor refuses to shoot after he was denied an increase in the fee. The character Caruso gained fame for the laconic and apt phrases that he utters, wearing sunglasses at the beginning of each episode. The show was closed in 2012.
