She graduated from the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts in San Francisco and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting from the University of Minnesota.
Cash has starred in the television series Brotherhood, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Malicious Intent, Mercy, and News. In 2011, she co-starred in the Fox sitcom Traffic Light, which ran for one season. In 2014, she landed the co-lead role of Gretchen Cutler on the FX television series You Are Vice. Cash's performance on this show was highly acclaimed and was named “Best Television Performance of 2015” by The AV Club website.
Cash's name has appeared in the credits of films such as Love Binding, Winter of Frozen Hopes, Once in a Lifetime, and Happy Home. In The Wolf of Wall Street, she played a small role as Janet, assistant to Jordan Belfort.
