Born February 27, 1979 in Florence, Italy. Alba's mother is Italian and her father is German. The actress has a sister, Alice Rohrwacher, who became a director and screenwriter.
Rohrwacher graduated from the Italian National School in Rome, after which she went to work at the local theater.
The actress made her big screen debut in 2005 in Melissa: An Intimate Diary. But she is best known for her role as Alice in the film "Days and Clouds". For the role of Alice Alba won the David Prize. Further, Alba played in the films "Quiet Chaos", "Papa Giovanna", "I Am Love", "The One Who Comes", "Of Flesh and Bone" and "Mission of Peace" .
In 2014, the actress starred in the film Hungry Hearts, for which she won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress and the Pasinetti Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival.
