May 16, 1921 - December 27, 2012 - American film and television actor. In 1941-1944, Carey Jr. served in the navy in the Pacific Ocean, but was then sent back to the mainland (thanks to the patronage of his father, but against the wishes of Carey Jr. himself), where he began acting in educational and propaganda films. He first appeared on the wide screen in 1946. He was close friends with the famous director John Ford and appeared in many of his films.
