Born April 3, 1944 in New York - American pop singer.
The singer was opened to the world by producer Don Kirchner. Tony successfully auditioned for Kirchner and soon (he was only 16 years old) was already in the US charts with the hit "Halfway to Paradise", which Carol King wrote for him. She was also the author and followed by the song "Bless You", which reached the top twenty. The singer is best known for his cozy, happy hits of the 1970s, recorded as the lead vocalist of the group "Tony Orlando and Dawn" (with the vocal duo "Dawn" on the backing). The group had many big hits, including "Candida", "Knock Three Times" and "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" (giant hit and since then the singer's calling card; the best-selling single in 1973 in the United States ). From 1974 to 1976, the band hosted their own variety show on CBS. The collective disbanded in 1978. Then the singer continued to perform solo. So, in the 1990s, he gave concerts for the idle audience in Las Vegas (California) and Branson (Missouri, in which he opened his own musical theater "Tony Orlando Yellow Ribbon Music Theater" in 1993).
