Born January 26, 1974, Salt Lake City, Utah is a contemporary American novelist best known as the author of teen fantasy books.
Shannon received her primary education at West High School in Salt Lake City, and then became a student at the University of Utah and graduated with a bachelor's degree in English. She continued her studies at the University of Montana and became an MA in Literary Writing.
Shannon Hale wrote short stories at the age of 10. Before becoming a professional writer, she worked as a designer and was involved in web development. Shannon received many rejections before her debut book, Goose Girl, was published in 2003. A year later, the second novel, "Fiery Anna", was released, included in the author's series "Tales of Bayern" along with the novel "River Secrets" .
The most famous was Shannon Hale's series "Princess Academy", which includes the novels "Bride for a Prince", "A Palace of Stone" and The Forgotten Sisters, which has not yet been translated into Russian.
Shannon Hale also writes adult novels. Her book "Austinland" was filmed in 2013, and the writer herself acted as a screenwriter.
