Born 1956, Royal Oak, Michigan, USA is an American screenwriter, actor, producer and osteopathic physician.
The older brother of director and screenwriter Sam Raimi and actor Ted Raimi.
Graduated from Michigan State University, where, with his brother Sam, roommate Robert Tapert and later Bruce Campbell, he founded the student film community Creative Filmmaking Society, which has spawned several amateur films including The Happy Valley Kid and It's Murder! ...
In 1984, he received his doctorate osteopath from the University of Des Moines, after which he became a medical practitioner, and work for film and television became secondary to him.
Co-wrote with Sam film scripts.
Describing collaboration with Sam on scripts, Ivan calls it a kind of child's play, emphasizing that although Sam likes to think that he is in control of the whole process, working with his brother compares favorably with working with less familiar people.
