In 1985 he married his school friend, but the marriage lasted only 4 weeks.
In 1986, Louis Anderson and Bronson Pinchot starred in the pilot for ABC's "Perfect Strangers". Anderson was later replaced by Mark Lynn-Baker.
In 1995, Anderson created and produced an animated series for Fox Kids called Living with Louis, which aired on Saturday mornings. The series was based on the memories of Anderson's childhood with 10 siblings, with a good-natured mother and a father with a rude character, but no less kind soul. He also detailed his difficult childhood with his weight, why he was so teased, and how he decided to become a comedian. The show was a hit on Fox Kids for 3 years in a row and won 2 Emmy Awards.
