Born August 16, 1975, Wellington is a New Zealand actor, director, screenwriter and comedian.
Taika graduated from Queen Victoria University of Wellington. Together with Jemaine Clement he formed the comedy duo The Humourbeasts.
He made his film debut in 1999. From 1999 to 2004, he starred under the pseudonym Taika Cohen (mother's maiden name). He became famous for the short film “Two Cars, One Night”, as well as for his roles in the films “Eagle vs. Shark”, “Boy”, “Green Lantern” and “Real Ghouls”.
In 2017, Thor: Ragnarok was released, directed by Taika.
