Born August 8, 1975 in Ventura, California is an American film director, actor, and producer.
Having found success as a child actor, starting with commercials before landing a major role in The 10 of Us, he then began attending Thatcher School in Okhai.
Sheckman continued his studies at Yale University, from which he graduated with a degree in art history and theater. It was at Yale that Sheckman became interested in theater, where he directed performances. While at Yale, he also sang briefly with Out of the Blue, an a cappella singing group.
After university, Sheckman lived in New York for several years before moving to Los Angeles.
Sheckman is best known for his role as Graham J. R." Lubbock in the spin-off of Growth Trouble. His other television credits include Facts from Life, Way to Heaven, Various Moves, Night Judgment, Good Morning Miss Bliss and Webster. He also appeared in the films Night at the Magic Castle (1988) and Meet the Emptyheads (1989).
Sheckman is the creator and creative director of the Black Dahlia Theater (BDT) in Los Angeles, which American Theater Magazine has named as one of the “Top Ten Young American Companies You Should Know About”.
Since 2002, Sheckman has primarily directed television. His works include Mad Men, The Client Is Always Dead, New Girl, Brothers and Sisters, House Doctor, Fargo and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (also executive producer).
Sheckman also directed episodes of Trophies of War and East Watch for Season 7 of HBO's Game of Thrones.
