He is best known for his collaboration with rock band U2, some of the music videos he has directed for the band include Bad, One, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses and Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own ". He also directed the documentary Rattle and Hum (1988), which documented the events of The Joshua Tree Tour.
