Born June 25, 1974, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is a Canadian film director, producer, screenwriter and actress.
Nis was educated at New York University (NYU), graduating from the Tisch School of Arts, and in 1992 began her career in the film industry working on the TV series The Real World. In 1996, she tried herself in several roles - director, screenwriter and editor, creating the film Junky Punky Girlz.
In 1999, Ganatra, an openly lesbian, presents the American drama Chutney Popcorn, which tells the story of surrogacy, same-sex love and true friendship. In this tape, she herself played one of the main roles.
Actors Jill Hennessy, Nick Chinland, Kara Buono, Ajay Naidu and others became her colleagues on the set. This film has repeatedly received the Audience Award at various festivals, including Berlin.
