Born in Winnipeg, Canada - Canadian film director, screenwriter, producer and editor.
Initially, he devoted all his time to mountaineering, which he did in South America and Asia. In Vinipeg, where he is based, Garrity is involved in directing and music. In the mid-90s, he shot several videos for The Wyrd Sisters, Mark Reeves and Richard Moody. He also shoots several documentaries and short films, including “How Much for Half a Kilo?”. For these works, he received several awards at festivals in Vancouver and Toronto. Many of these works are even bought by various TV channels around the world.
His first major award was for the film “Inertia” (2001). First, at the Toronto Film Festival, and a little later, for Best Director at the FilmCan Film Festival. Critics even included Inertia on the list of Canadian films worth watching in 2002. His next feature film, Lucid (2005), was also a critical success at film festivals and, again, won several awards, including the CityTV Award for Best Western Canada Film at the Vancouver International Film Festival. And besides, a couple of local awards. The film has also been shown at more than 25 film festivals around the world.
Sean Garrity's third film, Zooey and Adam, was again nominated for Best Picture following its premiere at the Atlantic International Film Festival.
