Born in Seattle, Washington is an American film director, producer, editor, and screenwriter.
For the first time in the world of cinematography, Renfro's name became known in 2003, at the time when his debut film, the fantastic thriller "Version 1.0", was released. The film was created in collaboration with Icelandic director and screenwriter Martin Thorsson. Richard Rees, Jeremy Sisto and Udo Keer were invited to the main roles. Version 1.0 was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2004, and has won awards at other international film festivals.
Jeff Renfroe's next film, the thriller Civic Responsibility, premiered at the Tribeca Festival in late April 2006 and hit worldwide release in 2007. The screenplay was written by Andrew Joyner, and starring Peter Krause, Kari Matchett and Richard Schiff.
In 2008 Renfro was the editor of Sasha Gervasi's biopic Anvil: The Story of a Rock Band. A year later, he released two whole television films - the military thriller "Snakes of the Sand" with Jason Gedrick and the detective drama "Stranger with My Face" with Catherine Hicks and Alex Johnson.
After that, Jeff honed his professional skills in serials for several years. In 2010, he became the director of the drama series The Seven Deadly Sins and one of the directors of the fantasy film The Secrets of Haven. In 2011, he directed several episodes for the Canadian horror series Being Human and completed the television drama He Loves Me. Renfro was also included in the list of directors of the fantastic serial thriller Beauty and the Beast and the drama Kingdom.
Jeff returned to the big screen in 2013 with the fantastic full-length thriller Colony, which guides viewers into the post-apocalyptic history of a colony of people trying to survive under the ice layer of the Earth left after a natural disaster. The main roles in the film were played by Kevin Zegers, Charlotte Sullivan and Laurence Fishburne. And a whole staff of scriptwriters worked on the plot, including the director Jeff Renfro himself. "Colony" is the first film shot at the Canadian aerospace base of the North American continent "NORAD". The world premiere of the thriller took place on April 26, 2013.
Renfro's next project was a documentary biopic about the life of the world famous actor, racer and beloved by millions of Steve McQueen. Together with screenwriter David Ray, Renfro highlighted the theme of similarities and differences between the screen hero and personality. In addition to McQueen, Robert Downey Jr., Kristin Kreuk, Pierce Brosnan, Randy Couture and many other celebrities can be seen in the film.
Jeff Renfro, along with writer and screenwriter Dian J. Wright, are partners with Milk Boss Industries, which produces feature films, documentaries in films, as well as TV and Internet series.
