Graduated from Queen's College, Cambridge University.
Greengrass is best known for directing the second and third films in the Jason Bourne series, The Bourne Supremacy (2004) and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). The role of Bourne in these films was played by Matt Damon. Greengrass refused to direct the fourth film - "The Bourne Evolution", and for this reason Damon left the project (the main role in the spin-off was played by Jeremy Renner). In 2016, the fifth film in the media franchise was released - "Jason Bourne", directed by Greengrass with Matt Damon in the title role.
Winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival 2002 for the film Bloody Sunday.
