May 3, 1934, London, England - May 1, 2011, Oaksted, Surrey, England - English heavyweight boxer. He was twice named "Sportsman of the Year" by the BBC. Known for knocking down Mohammed Ali in June 1963. After retiring from sports, he worked in television and radio. Cooper was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1969 and knighted in 2000. He was immensely popular in the UK, nicknamed "Our Henry" by the British.
