Born April 20, 1957, Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom - American-Canadian actor and director of Welsh descent.
The early childhood of the future actor was spent in the small town of Haverfordwest, at the age of 7 he and his family moved to Canada, where he attended Upper Canada College in Toronto. At the age of 12, he participated in a school production based on the novel by William Golding "Lord of the Flies". He briefly studied economics at the University of Western Ontario, which he soon left to become an actor. In 1976 he moved to Quebec.
In 1976, at the age of 19, Vin Davis plays in the theater. After some time, he got a role in Hamlet, for which he received the Tony Award for Best Actor. Then he performed at the Stratford Shakespeare Theater Festival.
In 1977 he made his film debut in the film Deadly Harvest. In the 80s, he actively starred in serials, and in 1987 played the role of Major Mike Rivers in the first season of the television series "Air Wolf" .
In 1992 Gerent Win Davis gets one of his most famous roles - the immortal vampire cop Nick Knight in the cult television series Knight Forever. The series was a great success and ran for 4 seasons on CBS, after which it was canceled in 1998. For this role, Vin Davis was nominated twice for Gemini. It is also known that it was he who came up with the name for the series.
In 2002 two sequel films with the actor's participation were released - "Cube 2: Hypercube" and "American Psycho 2". In both, he plays a central role.
In 2004, in Washington, he played one of the main roles in the play "Cyrano de Bergerac" .
