At 18, Oliver James earned money for the coolest sneakers in the area working in the kitchen in his father's pub in the English village of Clavering, which is part of Essex. Grew up in the UK, in Otershaw.
Throughout 2002, Oliver was a member of an emerging boy band. James' first appearance on screen was a cameo in the short film School's Out (2002); then appeared in 2003 in an episode of The Afternoon Play. Graduated from Guildford School of Acting. Leaving the group, he moved to Los Angeles and starred in the American romantic comedy What a Girl Wants, where he played Ian Wallace. For his role in the film, James learned to play the guitar and sang two songs Long Time Coming and Greatest Story Ever Told, which are the soundtracks of the film. In 2004, the picture Superstar was released with his participation. His next role is a law student in the TV series The Innocence Project. In 2009, the film Three in a Canoe 2: Call of Nature was released, where Oliver played the main role.
