Born August 31, 1945 Garland, USA - American professional boxer who competed in the heavyweight division. USA Amateur Heavyweight Champion (1969). Heavyweight Champion of the State of Nevada (1971). One of the best punchers in the history of boxing.
In 2003, the authoritative American Ring magazine published a list of the 100 best punchers in boxing history. Shavers took 10th place in it.
