Born November 2, 1947, is an American actress best known for her role as Esther Valentine in the long-running daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, which she has been playing since 1982 for over thirty years. Before becoming an actress, she worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines, and in the 2000s became a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. In 2008, Kate Linder received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contributions to television. In fact, she became the fourth actor in daytime soap operas, after McDonald Carey, Jeanne Cooper and Susan Lucci, to receive a star of her own.
