Born July 16, 1958, Chicago, Illinois, USA - American director and producer.
At the age of four she moved with her family to Baltimore. Her parents, Paul and Prudence, are from the UK, where Rachel spent two years as a child. Her family comes from the famous Talalev clan, the descendants of Rabbi Leib ben Rav Mikhl Telalei from Mogilev. One of the earliest settlers in America was Mendel Talaley, who settled in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1898. Among the descendants there are famous rabbis, musicians, architects, historians, psychologists, archaeologists, journalists, and writers. Rachel's sister is Susan Talalay, a sports journalist based in Florida.
Telaley graduated from Yale University with a degree in mathematics. She worked as a computer analyst at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He is also a professor at the University of British Columbia.
Has been in cinema since 1981. Director since 1991.
