Born April 19, 1974, Boulder, USA - American and French singer
When Chris was still very young, his mother intensively taught her son to play the piano, despite the fact that the boy himself showed a love for drums. But at the age of 12, Chris took up a guitar - an instrument that turned his life upside down. Once, when the boy went on tour with his father's band (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), one of the band's guitarists gave him a spare guitar and showed him a couple of simple chords and songs. The boy was shocked! He fell in love with this instrument once and for all. At the age of 13, Chris and his mother moved to France, to Paris (his parents divorced in 1978, when the boy was only 4 years old). There he entered the famous American School of Paris. At the age of 16, Chris writes his first song - If I Were a Mountain. After graduating from high school in 1993, Christopher returns to the United States to work with his father. He has lived in New York for several years, where he forms his band with Adam Cohen, son of singer and songwriter Leonard Cohen. As a result, Chris signed a contract with Atlantic Records (the label of his father's band), and 1998, on January 12, 23-year-old Chris Stills released his first solo album - "100 Year Thing" .
Raised on the music of Buffalo Springfield, CSN, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and the Police, Chris also notes the influence on his work of both parents (especially his father's folk rock). "100 Year Thing" was inspired by 60s folk, rock and blues. Other influences Chris gradually found himself, over time, for example: the Jayhawks, Alt or Ryan Adams.
The musician's second album, released in October 2005, was simply called Chris Stills. This time Christopher worked with V2 Records, and the album was released under this label. Already in May 2006, the album filled store shelves in the US and Canada. At this time, the musician's European tour in support of the album begins. Later EP When the Pain Dies Down: Live in Paris will be released.
In early August 2007 Chris embarked on a short tour with Mandy Moore. He acted as an opening act for more than 15 of her shows in the US and Canada. In 2009, Chris was cast for the role of Julius Caesar in the enchanting musical “Cleopatra. The last queen of Egypt ”(Cleopatre, la derniere reine d'Egypte). With the troupe of the musical, he goes on a grand tour throughout France. Later, a concept album and a DVD of the musical were released, in which Chris took part. The Cleopatra extravaganza ended in January 2010 in Paris, where the troupe gave their last few performances.
