Born 25 August 1972, Copenhagen, Denmark - Danish screenwriter, director, actor and producer.
After leaving school, Arcel entered the Danish National Film School and graduated in 2001 as a film director. His thesis, the short film The Last Symphony of Woyzeck, won the Grand Prix at the International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand.
In 2004, Arcel's debut work, Game Royal, was released, which brought the director the Robert Prize for Best Director. In 2007, Arcel directed the adventure film "Island of Lost Souls", and in 2010 the comedy "The Truth About Men". The film Royal Romance, which was released in 2012, brought international fame to the director. After that, Arcel began working in Hollywood.
On June 3, 2015, Arcel signed a contract for the shooting of the film "The Dark Tower" based on the series of books of the same name by Stephen King.
