Born January 1, 1973, Taipei, Taiwan is an American film director, producer, screenwriter and editor.

He earned his IPA degree from directing at the University of Los Angeles.

In 1997, together with Quentin Lee, he presented the painting "Shopping for Fangs" to the public. His solo film debut entitled "Better Lucky Tomorrow" made a lot of noise in the narrow circles of filmmakers. Lin has directed, written and produced a crime drama about the lives of modern teenagers in Asia who lead double lives. His next work, Duel, received mixed reviews from critics, but also found its audience - more than four million copies of the DVD sold worldwide. The plot of the film focuses on the life of a recruit of the elite naval academy Annapolis, who defies all the established rigid rules. In the summer of 2006, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the sequel to the acclaimed film, was released. It was Justin Lean's first directorial work on a budget of this magnitude. He did not disappoint fans in the least, presenting a spectacular and dynamic plot. The director himself drives a SAAB car, which seems strange to Fast and Furious viewers, fans of supercars and tuning cars. After the premiere of Tokyo Drift, Justin Lin went on to direct independent films. In 2007, he released Ending the Game, a comedic interpretation of the events surrounding the shooting of Bruce Lee's latest film, Game of Death. The premiere took place at the Sundance Film Festival. At the same festival, the director presented a short film "La revolucion de Iguodala!" Later, Justin Lin returned to the franchise and directed the fourth part of Fast and the Furious. On the first day of release, the action grossed over thirty and a half million dollars and became one of the highest grossing films in the history of April film premieres. Two years later, this record was broken by Justin Lin's next project, "Fast and Furious 5". Lin also directed several episodes of Community, including the acclaimed Modern Warfare series. In 2009 he founded the popular American blog for Asians: YouOffendMeYouOffendMyFamily (YOMYOMF). In April, it was announced that Justin Lin would direct the next film, The Terminator, but Annapurna Films eventually won the right to direct the film.
