Born January 1, 1986, Armagh, Northern Ireland - British actor.
Colin and his older brother Neil were raised by their parents in the Roman Catholic faith. Colin completed his primary and secondary education at Saints and Scholars Primary School and Dungannon Integrated College (ICD) in Dungannon (Dungannon and South Tyrone). In his third year, Colin won the Denis Rooney Associates Cup Award for Best Student of the Year. After graduating from Integrated College, he enrolled in Belfast Metropolitan College / Belfast Institute of Further & Higher Education, graduating in 2004 with a BTEC National Diploma (in Performing Arts) .
After college, Colin continued his studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, where he studied for another 3 years.
In November 2010, at Belfast Metropolitan College, Colin was given the Award of Distinction (Honorary Prize) for his contribution to the arts.
In 2007, Morgan played Esteban at the Old Vic Theater in London in an adapted version of Pedro Almodovar's “All About My Mother,” and landed the lead role in a stage adaptation of DCC Pierre’s book “Vernon God Little” .
From 2008 to 2012, he starred in the television series Merlin, for which he received the National Television Awards.
Colin's mother is called Bernie and she works as a nurse, and his father, Bernard, is an artist and decorator. Colin has a brother, Neil, who is three years his senior (born July 1983). Neil is a funeral director in Dublin.
On October 27, 2002, at the age of 16, Colin auditioned for the music program You're A Star. The winner was to sign a contract with a record company and also represent Ireland in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest. Colin failed the audition.
Morgan played many minor roles in television programs such as The Catherine Tate Show in 2007, Doctor Who (episode Midnight) in 2008, before landing the role of Merlin in the series of the same name (2008) .
In March 2009, Morgan took part in Kim Newman's radio show Babies Screams on BBC Radio 4.
He made his film debut in The Island, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Jane Roger.
