Born April 18, 1946, London - British actress, daughter of John Mills and Mary Haley Bell, sister of Juliet Mills, mother of Crispian Mills.
Hayley Mills' acting career began in childhood. At the age of 13, she became famous for her role in the American film "Tiger's Bay", for which she received a BAFTA Youth Award. In 1961, the role of an orphan girl in the Disney film Pollyanna earned Mills immense popularity in America and an Oscar in the nomination for Youth Award. In the same year, Mills won a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year. During the 1960s, Mills starred in six Walt Disney films, all of which were successful at the box office. This period was the peak of Mills' career - critics called her the most beloved children's movie star in America. This image, however, did not allow her to play roles in such legendary films as Lolita and Cape of Fear. After the end of her contract with Walt Disney, Mills returned to England, where she continued to play roles in films.
In the 1980s, Mills joined the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, became a vegetarian and promoted vegetarianism. In 1971-1977, Mills was married to director Roy Boulting. From this marriage, she had a son, Crispian.
