She has African, Italian and Russian roots. At the age of 7, she began to participate in local theatrical performances. After graduating from high school, she studied performing arts at Mount King's College, Calgary.
She made her film debut in 2006 with a role in the film Santa Baby. In 2007 she starred in the TV series "Kaya". In 2009 she played one of the main roles in the television series Twilight in Valmont. In 2011, she starred in an episode of the movie Time, opposite Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. From 2011 to 2012 she starred in the TV series The Secret Circle. Since 2014 he has been acting in the television series Black Sails.
