Born 5 August 1951 - Australian television and film actor, producer and director.
Jarrat's father was a miner and then a concrete worker. John graduated from the Australian National School of Theater in 1973. He made his screen debut in the sports comedy The Great MacArthy in 1975.
Work in the detective drama "Picnic at the Hanging Rock" (1975) by Peter Weir brought the actor popularity. Jarrat was successfully shot in the films "Django Unchained" by Quentin Tarantino: the film won an Oscar in three nominations - "Best Film", "Best Cinematography", "Best Sound Editing". In addition, John Jarratt starred in Australia, directed by Baz Luhrmann, with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman as co-stars.
