Born 18 July 1985, London - English actor.
His father Hugh Norton was born in Tanzania and was a lecturer at the Hull School of Art and Design, and his mother was Lavinia Norton. Originally Londoners, the Nortons lived in Malton, Rydale, North Yorkshire.
Norton was educated at Ampleforth College, an independent Catholic (Benedictine) school in the village of Ampleforth, North Yorkshire, where he excelled in theater and tennis. When he was 15 he played at the Stephen Joseph Theater in Scarborough.
Beginning in 2004, Norton studied theology at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University. Norton received a grant from this college to travel to North India to teach students in sixteen schools.
Norton was a member of the Marlow Theater Club in Cambridge and in 2007 he played Postumus in a production of William Shakespeare's Cymbeline, directed by Trevor Nunn. Norton notes that he played a lot of theater during his college years.
After that, Norton attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London for three years, but left training six months before graduation for the role in 2010.
