Ashley rose to fame for her role in the 1962 Broadway play Take Her, She's Mine, which earned her a Tony. After that she received two more nominations for her roles in the productions of Barefoot in the Park (1964) and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1975). She has also appeared in two dozen other Broadway productions over the course of her five-decade career.
Ashley has appeared in over a hundred different films and television series. She was nominated for BAFTA and Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Carpetbaggers. In addition, she had notable roles in the films Ship of Fools, Coma and Networks of Evil. Gruvemuvestart
