Born July 25, 1971 - American theater, film and television actress. She has Jewish roots and is fluent in Yiddish as well as Italian. Her parents divorced when she was 7 years old, and she alternately lived with her mother, then with her father. She attended the University of Michigan, where she played many roles in various productions. After moving to New York, Shore landed several notable theater roles, most notably in the musical Hedwig and the Unfortunate Inch. In 2001, she starred in the film version of the musical of the same name, for which she received critical acclaim and several awards and nominations. During the 2000s, she had guest roles on the television series The West Wing and My Name Is Earl, as well as supporting roles in the films Blinded by Desire, The Shortbus Club, and Sweet Midnight. In addition, she had roles in the short-lived television series "Then You Came" (2000), "Inside the Schwartz" (2001-2002), "Special Day" (2006-2007) and "Swinger City" (2008). Shore voiced Diana McClintock in BioShock in 2007.
From 2007 to 2010, Shore appeared in five episodes of the series Skirmish, and in 2011 she starred in the mini-series Mildred Pierce. In 2012, she co-starred on ABC's Godly Bitch, opposite Leslie Bibb, Christine Chenoweth, Annie Potts, Jennifer Aspen and Marisol Nichols. The series was canceled after one season. After a supporting role in The Good Wife, Shore began acting in the TV Land sitcom Young, which began in 2015.
