Born May 26, 1956, Houston, Texas, USA - American actress, film director, screenwriter, film producer, dancer, choreographer and writer.
In 1974 Lisa graduated from the Houston Ballet Dance Company. For the stage name, she shortened her maiden name Haapaniemi to simply Niemi in 1977.
Lisa started her career as an actress, film director, screenwriter, film producer, dancer, choreographer and writer in 1975. On account of Niemi dozens of films. Together with Patrick Swayze, Niemi was a screenwriter, director and actress on 2003's The Last Dance. The film is based on the play “Without a Word”, which has been a successful performance for 18 years and won 6 awards. Niemi said about this work of hers: "Much of this is based on our experiences as concert dancers in New York, and it has influenced a lot of people."
Also Niemi (with Swayze) starred in one of the main roles in the film "Dawn of Steel". Niemi also starred in Letters from a Killer, Next of kin, Younger and Younger, Live!
