Born November 15, 1973 - American actress, daughter of actors Sydney Poitier and Joanne Shimkus.
Poitier was born in Los Angeles and graduated from New York University, after which she studied at the Stella Adler Acting Studio. Her acting debut was in the TV movie Leaving Eden, where she co-starred with her father. In 2001, Poitiers starred in the short-lived NBC series The Early Years, and in 2003 starred in the UPN sitcom Abby, also canceled after one season. She then took on a supporting role in New Joan of Arc, and the following year starred in the first season of Veronica Mars .
On the big screen, Poitiers appeared in Death Proof (2007) and then starred in the disastrous reboot of the Knight Rider series. In the following years, she continued her television career, appearing in Private Practice and Hawaii 5.0, and in 2014 had a minor role in the Chicago Police Department.
