Born June 28, 1971 - American actor.
He studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, soon after which he began a career in theater. In the 1990s, Martinez began appearing on television, in episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Hope Chicago, The X-Files, NYPD, and Touched by an Angel. On the big screen, he has had roles in Epidemic (1995), Saw: The Survival Game (2004) and Million Dollar Baby (2004) .
Martinez has played dozens of roles throughout his career, but he is best known for playing David Aceveda in the FX series The Shield from 2002 to 2008. Since then, he has had minor roles in Anti-Terror Squad, 24 Hours and Save Grace. He played more significant roles in "Sons of Anarchy" (2011-2012) and "House of Cards" (2014-2015). In 2015, Martinez received critical acclaim for his role as the father of a teenage murder accused in ABC's American Crime.
