Born October 17, 1968 in Trenchtown, Jamaica - eldest son of Bob Marley and his wife Rita.
He started as the frontman of the band The Melody Makers, consisting mainly of his brothers and sisters and continuing the tradition of reggae music. The peak of their success was the album Conscious Party (1988), which was noted in the American charts. It was produced by Chris Franz and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads.
In 2003, he released his first solo disc, Dragonfly, followed by the critically acclaimed Love Is My Religion (2006), which won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album .
In May 2009 Ziggy released a new album "Family Time", which he records especially for children. The record was attended by such musicians as Willie Nelson, Paul Simon, as well as his mother and sisters.
