She became interested in theater as a child, having watched a theatrical performance with her brother, but she made her debut on stage only 20 years later. After graduating from high school early, she began performing in amateur theater groups, without leaving her native Catalonia.
Amparo Baro's first professional performance took place in 1957 at the Windsor Theater in Barcelona. For the next few years she played in this theater with Adolfo Marsillach and Amparo Soler Leal.
Later, Amparo Baro began acting in films, but did not stop working in the theater. She was not considered a significant film actress until she starred in the TV series "7 Lives" as Soledad Uete. After the release of the series, Amparo's popularity increased.
Her most famous role was the role of the manager of the boarding house Jacinta Garcia in the TV series "Black Lagoon". Also voiced cartoons.
Amparo Baro has won numerous national awards. Also, the Council of Ministers of Spain awarded her the Medal for Labor Merit in December 2007.
