Charles' father is the famous writer and politician Michel Gilibert.
Charles Gilibert began his career in 1995. Initially, Charles was involved in the production of short films.
In 2010 Gilibert became one of the directors of MK2. Charles left MK2 three years later and founded his own production company.
In 2014, Gilibert took part in the production of Denise Gamze Erguven's Mustang, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Film and a Cesar for the same nomination. In the same year, the producer released the film "Sils-Maria", which received the "Best Film" nomination for the Cesar Prize.
