Born October 30, 1951 - American actor and producer.
Hamlin made his big screen debut in the 1978 film Cinema, Cinema, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Film Debut. In 1981, he starred in the commercially successful Clash of the Titans. In 1982, Hamlin played the lead role in Making Love with Kate Jackson and Michael Ontkin, a groundbreaking 20th Century Fox drama about a married gay woman. The film was not a commercial success, and Hamlin never landed in a Hollywood movie again.
After a short career in film, Hamlin moved to television in 1984. He starred in the mini-series "The Intriguer" and "Space", and then in two dozen soap-themed films made for television. In 1986, he took on the role of attorney Michael Kozak on the NBC series Los Angeles Law. The role earned him three Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor in a Television Series - Drama. In the wake of the series' success, he was named "Sexiest Man" by People magazine. Hamlin left the series after five seasons in 1991. In 1999, he attempted to return to television, starring in The WB's sitcom Movie Stars with Jennifer Grant, but the show was canceled after two short seasons.
During the 2000s and 2010s, Hamlin took on minor roles in the TV series Veronica Mars (UPN, 2004-2006), Army Wives (Lifetime, 2010-2011), Shameless (Showtime, 2012- 2014) and Mad Men (AMC, 2013-2014). For his role in the latter, he was nominated for an Emmy in the category "Best Guest Actor in a Drama Television Series" in 2013. Hamlin also appeared in Touched by an Angel, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Harper's Island, and Choir. In addition to this, he appeared in the third season of the reality show "Dancing with the Stars", and in 2012 got to the bottom of his career, becoming the face of advertising for adult diapers with Lisa Rinna.
