Born July 14, 1964, Ames, Iowa, USA - American screenwriter and television producer.
Jane Espenson became interested in drama at the age of 13 when she wrote her first screenplay for the famous TV series M * A * S * H. Subsequently, she assessed her debut work as: "It was a disaster ...".
She studied Computer Science and Linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley; During her studies, she presented several scripts for the series "Star Trek: The Next Generation", taking part in the competition of amateur writers. Her next attempt was successful: in 1992, Jane became the winner of the ABC Disney writers fellowship competition, which opened her doors to a career in television.
In 1998, Espenson joined the crew of the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
