Born December 30, 1956 - American actress and singer.
In 1973 she was crowned "Miss Black Teen-age" in New York. At the age of 19 she entered Rutgers University. She originally planned to study medicine, but after contact with corpses and winning a scholarship at the American College of Theater, she dropped out. In 2003 she became a class speaker at Rutgers University. Ralph is married to Pennsylvania Senator Vincent Hughes. In 1982, Ralph appeared in the musical Dream Girl as Dina Jones, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. In 1984, she released her only album, In the Evening, which peaked at # 6 on the Billboard charts. In 1988 she voiced Rita in the cartoon Oliver and Company. Her first debut role was as the wife of the hero Denzel Washington in the movie Mighty Queen. In 1991, Ralph starred as a mistress in the film The Mistress. She later appeared in films such as The Flintstones, Containment, and Love Unconditional .
On television, Ralph is best known for her role as Ginger St. James in This Life, Etienne Toussaint-Bouvier in Making a Woman, Dee Mitchell in the sitcom Moesha, and then in Justice League and Justice League Limitless. In June 2000, Ralph sued The National Enquirer for an article about her and her husband. On June 16, 2009, it was announced that Ralph was joining the cast of the Broadway musical The First Wives Club. She replaced actress Adriana Lenox, who withdrew from the project due to health problems.
