Born December 2, 1968, Blackeberg, Stockholm, Sweden - Swedish writer, author of works in the horror genre.

His debut novel Let Me In was published in 2004. This is both a horror film about vampires, a drama about loneliness, and a kind of love story. The novel was very popular in Sweden and was filmed in 2008. Lindqvist's second novel, Blessed are the Dead, released in 2005, has been appreciated not only in Sweden, but also abroad. Sixteen TV channels fought for the right to film this novel. As a result, the rights went to the state Swedish channel SVT, which entrusted the project to director Christian Petri.

In 2006 Lindqvist publishes his third book, Paper Walls. This is a collection of stories written in the horror and thriller genres. Lindqvist's books have been published by Ordfront and have been translated into many languages, including English, German, Italian, Norwegian, Danish, Polish, Dutch and Russian.

In 2006, Ayvide visited Moscow. He met with readers and gave a seminar "The Quiet Horrors of Sweden". Lindqvist read all Dostoevsky's novels twice, read Gogol, Bulgakov and Chekhov. Of the modern authors, I read two novels by Vladimir Sorokin, and he really liked them. And together with my son I read all the series of Lukyanenko's "Night Watch", according to their point of view, they are great. Prior to becoming a writer, Lindqvist worked for twelve years as a magician and stand-up comedy performer. In addition to fiction, he also wrote the script for the Swedish television series Kommissionen, most of the material for the television series Reuter & Skoog, and the script for the upcoming film adaptation of his novel Let Me In. Film company Tre Vanner bought the rights to create a television series and motion picture.

After finishing work on the short story collection Lilla stjarna and Manniskohamn in 2010, after the screen version, Lindqvist returned to the sequel to his first novel Let Me In and wrote a short sequel to it called “Let Old Dreams Die” (Lat de gamla drommarna do), which was published in 2011 (In Russia, the story is known only thanks to fan translations and under the title “Let Me In: The End”).
