The future actor spent all his childhood and youth in New Zealand. Despite the fact that his father was a pediatrician, and did not mind at all that his son followed in his footsteps, Daniel decided to become an actor.
In New Zealand, he managed to star in the TV series "Street Legal" (2002-2003). He soon moved to Australia to take part in a new project. The film was unsuccessful, Daniel did not see the prospects for developing his career in Australia and decided to leave for the USA. Before his trip to the States, he briefly stopped at his homeland - Canada.
Returning to Los Angeles, Daniel began actively looking for work and soon got a minor but striking role of astronaut John Jameson in the 2004 blockbuster Spider-Man 2 - after the movie was released, his career took off.
