Born 13 August 1993, Glasgow, Scotland, UK - Scottish actress.
Her father, James Mavor, an award-winning playwright, teaches a writing course at Edinburgh Napier University. Her grandfather, Ronald Bingo Mavor, worked as a theater critic for The Scotsman since the 1960s before becoming head of the Scottish Arts Council. Freya's great-great-grandfather, James Bridey (real name Osborne Mavor), transformed Scottish theatricality with the creation in 1950 of the College of Drama, the forerunner of the Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Freya's mother is of Irish and Danish descent. Freya became interested in acting at the age of 10 after watching the film The Shining. For some time Freya lived with her family in La Rochelle, France. She studied at Eugene Fromentin College in La Rochelle, Mary Erskine School in Edinburgh and has been a member of the National Youth Theater since 2008. Maivor first tried on the role of an actress at school, playing Miranda in Shakespeare's The Tempest, and also took part in the production of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice at the National Youth Theater.
In 2011, Freya made her professional debut as Mini McGuinness in the third generation of the E4 television series Skins, after Mayvor auditioned for the role of Grace Blood.
