Born November 21, 1965, Sudan - British actor of Sudanese descent.
He spent most of his life in the UK. His paternal uncle is the Prime Minister of Sudan (1966-67 and 1986-89) Sadig al-Mahdi, and his maternal uncle is the famous British actor Malcolm McDowell. There is a brother, Thomas, who is 16 years younger than Alexander.
Graduated from St. Lawrence College in Ramsgate, Kent. After that he entered University College London, where he studied geography and anthropology for a year. Realizing that this was not his vocation, he left his studies and after a while entered the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
