Born December 9, 1957 - American singer and actor, former teen idol.
He began his career in show business as a member (together with his four older brothers) of the musical group The Osmonds (he joined her very young, in 1963). In 1971, the group became very popular, moreover, in magazines, on TV shows, etc. Donnie, because of his "well-groomed good looks", was often singled out among the brothers as the object of the greatest adoration of the girls. The label of the group (MGM Records) also did not waste time and began to take advantage of Donnie's popularity - already in 1971 (in parallel with his work in the group) he released his first solo single "Sweet and Innocent", which reached 7th place in the USA. And the next one - "Go Away, Little Girl" - got to the 1st place.
Later, since the 1970s, Donny also began to work in tandem with his younger sister Marie (as Donny & Marie). In particular, they had their own TV show of the same name and their own - also called Donny & Marie - talk show.
