Born in 1970, USA - American screenwriter, producer, director.
Heisserer's professional career began with the sale of the script for "The Dionaea House" to Warner Bros. Studios. in 2005, based on an online epistolary story of the same name, which he wrote in October 2004. He then developed a television pilot for Paramount Pictures and CBS, and has written projects for Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Warner Bros.
In December 2008, Heisserer was hired to reimagine and rewrite the script for the relaunch of the Platinum Dunes' Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. An early draft of the script was written by Wesley Streak. Samuel Beyer was appointed to direct, Jackie Earl Haley won the lead role in the film, and filming began in May 2009.
Heisserer rewrote the prequel to the 1982 remake of The Thing, directed by John Carpenter. In April 2010, Heisserer was assigned to write the script for Destination 5, the fifth film in the eponymous horror franchise.
Heisserer made his directorial debut in Few Hours, starring Paul Walker.
