Kyoko Kishida - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips, Actress, Writer.
April 29, 1930 - December 17, 2006 - Japanese actress, voice actor, and children's writer.
Having become interested in the performing arts in her youth, after graduation she entered the institute established at her father's theater, where she made her debut in one of the productions in 1950. Despite her father's objections, she decided to become an actress. In her memoirs, Kishida notes that as a child she experienced a strong fascination with illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley for Wilde's "Salome". In this sense, in many respects it was natural that she became widely known after performing on the stage of Bungakuza the main role in the production of Yukio Mishima's play Salome. Salome was followed by a long-term succession of successful and often very complex and non-trivial roles.
In 1954 she married the actor of the same troupe Noboru Nakai (divorced in 1978). In 1963, along with a number of other leading actors, she left Bungakuza due to a scandal surrounding the play Koto Joy, after which she founded the Kumo troupe with Hiroshi Akutagawa and Tsutomu Yamazaki. This was followed by creative experiments with different troupes (in 1975 she joined Hiroshi Akutagawa's En Theater), as well as the beginning of a career in television. The leading role in the film "The Woman in the Sands" (1964) directed by Hiroshi Tesigahara brought world fame.
Her role as the voice actor of Moomin-Troll in the anime series “Mumin” (since 1969), based on Tove Jansson's works about the Moomin trolls, gained great popularity. The main motive for participating in a new role for her was the desire to clearly explain to her daughter (born in 1968) the essence of her profession: the actress took her daughter directly to the studio, where the child could directly observe the work of his mother. Kishida also notes that social utopia, expressed in a fairy-tale form in Jansson's works, also made a strong impression on her and caused a certain internal resonance. The ability to get used to the role, the peculiar and memorable timbre and sensuality of her voice made Kishid's recitations unique, which contributed to the growth and variety of the roles of the voice actress in which she was in demand (documentaries, anime, audio books, recitation of poetry, dubbing of foreign films, etc.). Over the years, Kishida has also been active in children's theater productions, often with her childhood friend, poet Shuntaro Tanikawa. In addition to acting, Kishida left a significant literary legacy, written in various genres: primarily children's literature, as well as essays, translations, lyrics, etc. Many of her books touch on the issue of overcoming the alienation of modern man, the loss of childish spontaneity and separation from natural natural rhythms.
